In the orderly universe of Sock World, each sock sticks to its own kind and has nothing to do with the others. ‘What would be the point of mixing things up?’ they ask. ‘Better to stay with your own kind. That way there are no unpleasant surprises!’ But one day, due to an accident, the dresser tips over and all the socks get mixed up! With their partners gone, they are all forced to communicate with each other... They discover that perhaps all these differences are not a bad thing, but a way of enriching each other.
An amusing and unusual story that explains the value of diversity through the metaphor of socks: accustomed to always being side by side with their peers, they discover that opening up to others can lead to pleasant surprises.
